Something old, something new, something borrowed and definitely something blue!

A cabaret of theatre songs and Jazz Standards with Roz Ure on vocals and Jeffery Wilson on piano.
 
Actress and singer Roz Ure and international composer Jeffery Wilson have teamed up to provide an exciting cabaret. Together they explore a melting pot of songs from the world of theatre and jazz plus a few of their own compositions to create a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
Roz studied Musical Theatre at the Central School of Speech & Drama and her passion is acting through song.

On stage she has covered four leading roles and played Sarah in the UK National Tour of the comedy ‘The Naked Truth’, and Judy in ‘Darlings, You Were Wonderful' at The King's Head Theatre. She has close ties with Brentwood having played Rebecca in ‘Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens’ with the Brentwood Theatre Company and won a best actress BRENT for Mrs Lovett in ‘Sweeney Todd’. TV and Film include comedy for Channel 5 and a Feature Film called ‘Transient’. Roslyn has performed her own comedy material at the Edinburgh Fringe receiving a four star review. She also presents her own theatre radio show ‘Stage Door’ on Phoenix 98FM in Brentwood every Sunday.
Jeffery is one of the country’s foremost composers and educators, equally at home in classical, contemporary and jazz music. He studied composition at the Royal College of Music with John Lambert and Herbert Howells and later with Aladar Majorossy, Gordon Jacob and Olivier Messiaen. He has about 150 works in the repertoire with over a third of them published. He has been composer in residence in many European cities and with some notable orchestras including the London Festival Orchestra, London Mozart Players and the Northern Sinfonia. Jeffery performs in recital with pianists Tim Watts and Henk Alkema, with the contemporary quartet ‘Saxology’ and his own band ‘The Reduced History of Jazz’. A recent and exciting project is with the creative performance and education based trio ‘ReedPlay’ although he continues to perform with numerous jazz and new music ensembles.
