Welcome
To enhance the enjoyment of your visit to Brentwood Theatre, our friendly bar staff – many of whom have a special interest in all things theatre – will be pleased to serve you a drink. The Spotlight Bar, situated in our foyer, is private which means that only those attending the show can come in, enabling us to concentrate on you and your guests.
Opening times and late nights
As well as serving refreshments at the interval, we open the bar sixty minutes before, and thirty minutes after, every performance.
If you do stay for a drink after the show, please may we ask you to leave as quietly as possible as we are very close to several houses and we sincerely do not want to disturb our neighbours.

Interval
To save you queuing at the bar, you may wish to order your interval drinks before going into the show. The bar staff will liaise with the stage management to ensure that your drink is freshly poured immediately before the interval so that it is not sitting around all night!
Glassware
For your safety, we do not allow glass containers into the theatre auditorium, but can happily provide a plastic container instead – please just ask at the bar.
Our products
Looking for a nice cup of coffee? We serve Rombouts filter coffee – ‘ordinary’ and decaffeinated, so your coffee is always fresh and piping hot. And for that special treat, why not have a hot chocolate? – perhaps with a measure of Bailey’s!!!!!
It is not practical for us to sell beer ‘on tap’ as we may be closed on several consecutive nights when there is only a rehearsal in the theatre however we are very proud of the wide range of bottled lagers (usually Becks, Budweiser and Stella Artois) as well as a huge choice of bitters from Spitfire to Black Sheep, Directors to Banana Bread Beer!
Wine is served in individual bottles, each bottle providing two small glasses. We try to maintain a stock of three red wines and two white, plus Mateus Rosé, to give you a lot of choice.
Whilst we cannot always meet EVERY spirit we are asked for, we do serve at least a dozen of the usual spirits including gin, vodka, whisky, Malibu, a range of Martinis etc etc. Our spirit measures are 35ml (50ml for Martinis) and our friendly bar staff have been trained to serve ‘spirit and mixers’ to the highest standard – a fresh, clean glass, full to the top with ice, and a slice of lime.
